Andre Madatian currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Music Technology and Music Business at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, where he teaches courses in MTEC 1340: Technology for Musicians and MENT 1120: Business of Music. In this role, he guides students in exploring the intersection of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship within the modern music industry, integrating both artistic and technological perspectives to prepare them for dynamic careers in today’s ever-evolving musical landscape.

Before joining the faculty at Vanderbilt, Andre taught at Tennessee State University and Middle Tennessee State University, where he instructed courses in arranging, music appreciation, commercial music ensemble, and live sound reinforcement. His teaching combines academic rigor with real-world experience drawn from an active career as a performer, composer, and producer, offering students a comprehensive understanding of both the artistic and professional dimensions of contemporary music.

With a Bachelor of Music in Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music and a Master of Music in Composition from Middle Tennessee State University, Andre combines academic excellence with years of professional experience as a composer, performer, and touring musician. His teaching philosophy emphasizes blending traditional techniques with modern tools, preparing students for success in today’s rapidly evolving music landscape.
